Southern Biscuits
This is Southern (American) Style Biscuits.
Ingredients
- 2 cups AP flour.
- 1 tsp white sugar.
- 1 tbsp baking powder.
- 1 tsp kosher salt.
- 8 tbsp sweet butter.
- ¾ cup whole milk.
Directions
- Preheat oven to 425°F.
- In a bowl combine dry ingredients.
- Cube butter and add to dry ingredients.
- Mix butter with hands or fork until a cornmeal consistency is achieved.
- Add milk and mix until homogeneous.
- Roll biscuits out to approx. ¾ of an inch thick.
- Use a mug, cup, or cookie cutter to cut out rounds of dough.
- Arrange rounds in a cast iron pan.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
- Remove from oven and eat hot.
- Will keep on counter or in a brisker.
